Ever feel like you are just spinning your wheels?

Do you feel like you work all the time, yet your results are sporadic?

Would you like to know exactly what to do each day and then when it’s done be able to stop working and stop thinking about working, too?

Sporadic results are a reflection of the energy invested in the foundational activities of your business. It really comes down to habits. Are you in the “habit” of doing the most important tasks in your business? The results you are getting today are a reflection of the habits you had yesterday.

Think about it — you brush your teeth and you don’t get cavities.  Not because you brushed your teeth once at the beginning of the month for 90 minutes.  It’s because you brushed your teeth for 3 minutes each day — it’s a habit.

The same can be said of your business.  The results you have today are a reflection of the habits you have established in your business.

And the most important habit is the habit of meeting with and talking to people.  No matter how wonderful your products are or how amazing your Facebook posts, email sequences or text messages are, if you don’t have enough conversations with people, you aren’t going to sell or recruit effectively.

How many conversations is “enough?”  Three a day. That’s it — just 3 a day!

Instead of “winging it” each day, create a “success habit” of talking to at least 3 people a day about your business.  How can you do that? It’s pretty easy if you are at a vendor event or doing a party — you’ve got it covered on those days.  On the days you don’t have parties, what can you do to find 3 people to talk to about the business? I recommend brainstorming some ideas for yourself and then try them out.  Find the ideas that work for you (it “worked” means that you actually talk to 3 people about your product or opportunity).  Then pick the ones that are getting you the best results and make them a habit.  Be very clear — success means that you had a conversation — it does NOT mean that you booked a party or sold a product or recruited anyone.  Those results WILL come — but only if you talk to enough people!

Here’s an example of how I made “talking to 3 people a day about my business” a habit:

Monday: Call and talk to at least 3 team members
Tuesday: Hostess coaching phone calls
Wednesday: Customer service and recruiting phone calls
Thursday: Party or customer service and recruiting phone calls
Friday: Party or customer service and recruiting phone calls
Saturday: Party or team meeting
Sunday: Off

I discovered that making phone calls was the most effective way to talk to people when I wasn’t doing a party or vendor event.  I could talk to about 3 people in an hour and I didn’t have to get dressed up, drive anywhere, buy a meal or even buy a cup of coffee!  Even taking into account that only 1 out of 4 or 5 people pick up the phone, I could still talk to 3 people in an hour or less. I just kept dialing until I found someone to talk to!
